This Privacy Policy describes how MDAgent ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our browser extension and associated services.

1. Information We Collect

Through the Browser Extension: We only read the HTML content of the active browser tab when you explicitly click the extension to extract its text. We do not track your browsing history or continuously monitor your browser activity.

Account Information: When you register an account, we collect basic login details (such as your email and associated Google profile) through our authentication provider, Clerk.

2. How We Use Your Information

The content extracted by the extension is processed purely for your personal output. If you are using our Free features, the content never leaves your browser and is only processed locally to generate Markdown format.

If you subscribe to our Pro Features (MDAgent Pro), the extracted text is securely transmitted to our backend and subsequently processed via OpenAI's official Business API to generate research notes, tags, and topic-aware outputs. According to OpenAI's enterprise data privacy policy, your submitted content is not used to train their models. We do not log or permanently store the raw content or the AI-generated summaries on our own servers after the transaction completes.

3. Payment Processing

All payment and subscription data is handled securely by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not directly access, collect, or store your credit card information.

4. Third-Party Integrations

Our service utilizes:

  • Clerk for secure authentication and user management.
  • Stripe for payment processing and subscription management.
  • OpenAI for providing the AI research note and knowledge-compilation features.

5. Data Retention & Security

We retain account information (email, payment status) for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time. We employ industry-standard security measures (HTTPS, secure API keys, isolated environments) to protect your access tokens and account records.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify users through our website or via email. By continuing to use the service after those changes become effective, you agree to the updated policy.
